The Community

The 3.5 square mile Village of Rye Brook was recognized in 1982 as a seperate community within the Town of Rye, which was settled in 1660. Comprised mainly of executives and professionals, its 8,300 residents enjoy tree-lined residential streets in a "country-like" atmosphere on the Westchester County Border, adjacent to Greenwich, Connecticut. Employment within Rye Brook abounds, as it is home to Kraft Foods, Altria Corporation and MCI International, as well as numerous other well-known corporations. The Village is also the home of the popular Rye Town Hilton Hotel.

Educational and Cultural Facilities

Schooling is of the highest caliber in Rye Brook. Highly awarded schools include The Ridge Street Elementary School, a recipient of the National Education Excellence award and Blind Brook High School, which has also received national recognition as a School of Excellence. Advanced degrees are held by 99% of the schools' faculties. With a student body of 850 and a teacher retio of 10:1, class sizes are small and the curriculum is richly enhanced with superior programs. Indeed, 99% of the seniors proceed immediately to higher education. Conveniently located in nearby Purchase are the State University at Purchase and Manhattanville College a liberal arts college which also serves adult students.

Recreational Facilities

Many forms of recreation, including tennis and organized sports, are readily available within Rye Brook's Crawford Park, the center for the Recreation Department. Rye Town Park's lovely beach offers the salt water pleasures of Long Island Sound while the Port Chester Yacht Club will appeal to boating enthusiasts. Other area attractions are Playland Amusement Park and The Castle Center for the Arts which provides Rye Brook residents with classes for all agees and participation in the enjoyment of musical theatre.

Transportation

Forty minutes from Manhattan and within close commuting distance of White Plains and Stamford by car or train, Rye Brook has easy access to the Hutchinson River and Merritt Parkways and to Interstate Routes 95 and 287. Westchester County Airport, situated in Rye Brook, provides supremely convenient air travel.
